(LifeSiteNews) –– A recently revealed memo shows that the Trudeau government has budgeted millions for vaccine passports for Canadians until 2026, despite the World Health Organization (WHO) having declared the so-called pandemic to be ended.
According to a Department of Health memo dated March 23, nearly a year after vaccine passports were withdrawn across the country, the department requested increased funds to support COVID-19 vaccine passports and tracing measures.
“The purpose of the funding is to ensure the continued provision of the Canadian COVID proof of vaccination credentials both as a health record and to facilitate mobility in the context of international travel as well as support the application of public health measures as needed going forward,” reads the memo titled “Supplementary Estimates” which was obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter.
The memo further revealed that the Public Health Agency of Canada budgeted $17.6 million “over three years starting in 2022-2023 to sustain the Canadian COVID-19 proof of vaccination credentials. This funding will allow the Agency to provide continued proof of vaccination policy and program support to provinces and territories.”
In October 2021, the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had mandated the use of vaccine passports for all Canadians wishing to travel in the country via plane, train or boat.
While the WHO officially declared an end to the pandemic on May 5, the Canadian Government Executive, a magazine for federal managers, argued that vaccine passports should remain in place anyway.
“After a rigorous analysis of the issue of immunity certificates this article concludes the necessity of immunity certificates in Canada as a key enabler for the safe reopening of the society and economy in a post-COVID world,” it insisted.
In 2021, federal authorities assured Canadians that vaccine passports would not be used for anything aside from confirming vaccination from COVID. “It is not an identity document,” Isabelle Dubois, spokeswoman for the Department of Citizenship attested at the time, while acknowledging that there were no federal regulations in place to restrict the use of the documents.
The push to keep vaccine passports an available option despite the “pandemic” officially being over is not unique to Canadian officials but seems to be part of a movement towards a global, centralized government and health care system.
On June 5, The WHO and the European Union announced their collaboration on global digital vaccine passports at a joint press conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
“The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the value of digital health solutions in facilitating access to health services,” WHO director-general Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus said during the press conference. “While the emergency phase of the COVID-19 pandemic is now over, investment in digital infrastructure remains an important resource for health systems and for economies and societies at large.”
Global digital vaccine passports have been on the WHO’s agenda for some time. In February 2022, the agency commissioned T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, to develop a global digital vaccine passport system.
Many experts have warned that the WHO’s drafted pandemic treaty and the planned amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) could see nations having their sovereignty usurped by the self-professed global health authority.
In fact, Dr. Joseph Mercola has stated that if these measures are passed, the WHO will effectively become the “de facto governing body for the global Deep State.”
