Report: University Protests Are Being Funded by Some of the Democrat Party’s Biggest Donors – The Stream

Many of us suspected something was off with these sudden pro-Hamas campus protests when we noticed all those identical pup tents and professionally printed pro-Hamas signs, and the level of organizing that belied the idea that this was spontaneous.

On Sunday, the usually liberal news site Politico confirmed our suspicions: These protests are not only being organized by professional radical groups, but those groups are funded by some of the biggest Democrat donors pushing for Biden’s reelection.

Spending Big Bucks to Fund Radical Left Trouble-Making

For instance, two groups behind the protests at Columbia University are IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace (it is neither.) Both got funds from the Tides Foundation (George Soros’s money) and previously from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. There’s also David Rockefeller of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund ($300,000 to the Tides Foundation in 2022.) Other pro-Palestinian groups have gotten funds from Susan and Nick Pritzker, heirs to the Hyatt Hotel empire, who are also Biden megadonors.

Even as these clueless agitators continue disrupting education and graduations, real students and fellow patriots have had enough and are standing up to them.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering one of the suspected leaders of the Columbia University riot is a 40-year-old trust fund baby and arrested-development case who inherited 20 million unearned bucks from his dad, the former head of an advertising firm that included Ralph Lauren’s Polo as a client, and spends it on repeated radical left troublemaking.

“Philanthropists” Are Complicit in Repulsive Lawlessness

These “philanthropists” are being called out for their funding of groups that are vandalizing and shutting down campuses, attacking and threatening Jewish students and cheering for the death of Jews and the annihilation of Israel. Soros had no comment for Politico (what a surprise). The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation says it no longer funds Tides and doesn’t support those two organizing groups.

Some are claiming that their funds were intended for other things or pleading ignorance that they were helping to fund antisemitic terrorism supporters. Well, now they know. And anyone who remains silent — or even worse, continues funding this repulsive lawlessness — is complicit in it.

There is some positive news, at last: Even as these clueless agitators continue disrupting education and graduations, real students and fellow patriots have had enough and are standing up to them. Many were inspired by the alleged University of North Carolina “frat guys” who protected the American flag. As Kurt Schlichter points out, we’ve seen a reversal of the ’80s movie Revenge of the Nerds: The frat guys are now the all-American heroes standing up against smug, nasty, overprivileged, face-pierced, communist nerds.

As for their absurd false accusation that Israel is committing genocide, Schlichter, who is a veteran of urban warfare, has pointed out that civilian casualties are always a tragic consequence, but that Israel has gone to unprecedented lengths to prevent them, even at greater risk to their own troops. Yet leftists accuse them of genocide, citing propaganda from sources controlled by Hamas.

Why is it so easy to convince many of today’s college students that every death is Israel’s fault and no responsibility falls on the people who elected a terrorist organization to be their government, supported their attacks on Israel for years, heavily support the October 7 atrocities, and allowed Hamas to hide among them and use them as human shields? Well, as I mentioned above, under those circumstances, civilian deaths are going to be a consequence of warfare — and they have no grasp of the concept of consequences.
