Caitlin Clark Not Included on U.S. Women’s Olympic Team – American Faith

Indiana Fever star and former NCAA player Caitlin Clark, will not be among the 12 players selected for the U.S. Women’s Olympic basketball team.

According to USA Today, the final roster will consist of Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu.

In March 2024, Clark passed “Pistol Pete” Maravich to break the NCAA’s all-time scoring record for the first time in more than half a century.

The 22-year-old senior got to more than the 3,667 point record set by Maravich in 1970 after making a set of free throws.

The history-making shots happened when Clark’s team, Iowa, played its final regular home season game last season against Ohio State.

Clark was a guard for the Hawkeyes in her fourth season.

“Caitlin Clark cements herself as the gr8est college bball player EVER as she breaks the all time scoring record The pride of Iowa & leader of a gr8 Hawkeye wbb TEAM,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said a post to X. “Congrats to Clark The GOAT.”

The decision to leave Clark off the Olympic roster has come as a surprise to many.
