Call for Boycotts Emerge as 24 Hour Fitness Disapproves of American Flag Displays – American Faith

Many social media users have taken to X to condemn 24 Hour Fitness, calling for the company to be boycotted following the circulation of an internal memo.

American Faith reported that the company said in the memo that Pride symbols could be worn freely while U.S.-centric materials were only permitted on holidays.

“We’ve committed to creating a more inclusive environment at 24 Hour Fitness, recognizing that we have work to do to become stronger allies in support of those who are impacted by systemic oppression and inequality,” the memo read. “To create a healthy, happy world within our clubs and other spaces, we support our team members bringing their full selves to work every day, including their freedom of expression.”

The memo also discussed bathroom use by transgender individuals. It addresses the question, “What if the transgender member or team member has not yet undergone gender reassignment surgery?”

The memo stated that surgery was “irrelevant,” adding that members could use “whichever locker room they prefer.”

Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk condemned the memo, writing, “Boycott the anti-America 24 Hour Fitness until they’re chapter 11. Many superior options. End them.”

Commentator Rogan O’Handly similarly wrote, “Time to boycott 24 Hour Fitness. Woke garbage.”

Another X user, Sarah Sansoni, said, “I hope everyone that is a member of @24hourfitness shows up today in head to toe American flag gear to personally cancel their memberships.”

She added, “Does this corporation need to be educated on exactly what BLM is? Or American history? Or the constitution?”
