Former Republican President Donald Trump is holding a campaign event at a church in Democrat-run Detroit over the weekend.

According to a press release from his campaign, Trump will discuss how President Joe Biden “has failed the great people of Detroit and the State of Michigan.”

“Joe Biden has failed the people of Michigan so often that a historic number of voters chose to show up and literally vote for ‘no one’ over Biden in the Democratic primary,” the Trump campaign said.

The event will take place at 180 Church in Detroit, and is being held by “members of the community.”

“From gas to groceries, Michigan families continue to suffer from high inflation because of Biden’s disastrous economic policies that are spiking average household costs over $980 a month,” the former president’s campaign said.

“Joe Biden’s pro-criminal and open border policies that are having a deadly effect on communities including a 31% increase in opioid overdose deaths since 2019,” it added. “In February, an illegal immigrant was convicted of murdering a 22-year-old woman in Kent County, Michigan.”

Last weekend, Trump announced his campaign had raised $400 million since his guilty verdict.

“I just went through a rigged trial in New York with a highly conflicted judge, and I mean a highly conflicted, judge where there was no crime. It was made up, fabricated stuff,” Trump said. “They didn’t want to bring the case, they could have brought the case seven years ago – it’s only when you run for office they bring cases – but they would have done that seven years ago, not in the middle of my presidential campaign, where we’re beating Biden by a lot, did you see?”

Trump urged American voters to “change the system.”

“[W]e have to change the system, we have to straighten out what’s going on in these courts,” he said. “We gotta rigged deal going. This whole country, and we gotta do it. And those appellate courts have got to step up and straighten things out, or we’re not gonna have a country any longer.”
