OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – The Canadian government under Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged $90 million for a combination of so-called “climate change” initiatives along with “vaccine” equity programs to be used in various Caribbean countries.
Last Wednesday, Trudeau announced at the Canada-Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Summit in Ottawa that his government will work to “fight climate change and grow resilient economies.”
The government will give $58.5 million for a partnership with the “Caribbean Development Bank to support renewable energy projects and $6 million through the Caribbean Climate Smart Fund for resilient renewable energy systems.”
Trudeau claimed that Canada “and the Caribbean are longstanding partners sharing vibrant communities and close ties.”
“Welcoming Caribbean partners to Ottawa for the Canada-CARICOM Summit is another chance to keep strengthening this relationship and continue delivering good jobs, a healthy environment, and a safe future for people in Canada and the Caribbean alike,” he said.
Trudeau also said Canada will give $18.3 million from Canada’s Global Initiative for Vaccine Equity “to strengthen health and immunization systems and improve equitable access to vaccination in Haiti.”
The government is investing an additional “$4.6 million in partnership with the Justice Education Society to address gender-based violence and protect the rights of women, youth and children in the Eastern Caribbean.”
Trudeau made the announcement after recently being blasted for underreporting the true cost of an Easter vacation to the Bahamas earlier this year.
He has billed taxpayers $125,398 for security and other services, which was $127,187 more than what was originally disclosed to Canada’s parliament.
The reality is the Trudeau government’s current environmental goals, at home and abroad, are in lockstep with the United Nations’ “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” which includes phasing out coal-fired power plants, reducing fertilizer usage, and curbing natural gas use over the coming decades.
The reduction and eventual elimination of the use of so-called “fossil fuels” and a transition to unreliable “green” energy has also been pushed by the World Economic Forum (WEF) – the globalist group behind the socialist “Great Reset” agenda – an organization in which Trudeau and some of his cabinet are involved.
The Trudeau government has even defied a recent Supreme Court ruling and will push ahead with its net-zero emission regulations.
Canada’s Supreme Court recently ruled that the federal government’s “no more pipelines” legislation is mostly unconstitutional after a long legal battle with the province of Alberta, where the Conservative government opposes the radical climate change agenda.
