(LifeSiteNews) — Detransitioner Chloe Cole endorsed Donald Trump in the upcoming election, citing the former president’s commitment to stopping so-called “sex changes” for minors.

In an X post Monday, Cole, who herself became a victim of gender ideology and was chemically and surgically mutilated as a minor before accepting her biological identity, wrote, “I am a detransitioner, a formerly transgender child. I was directly harmed by Kamala Harris’ radical policies. I am endorsing President Donald Trump because he has promised to put a stop to sex changes for minors.”

Attached to the post was a video in which Cole explained that when she was 12, “doctors led me to believe I was transgender.”

“I was told that puberty blockers, hormones and surgeries were my only options,” she recounted, lamenting that “they were wrong,” but that as a result of undergoing the procedures, which included the removal of both of her breasts, she suffers from “irreversible changes” to her body.

“Today, Kamala Harris is pushing children into these procedures, limited their choices later on in life,” Cole warned. “That’s why I’m voting for Donald Trump, because he’s committed to protecting children from these rash decisions.”

While Trump and the GOP have largely betrayed conservatives on social issues in recent months, namely by softening their approach to abortion, same-sex “marriage” and in-vitro fertilization, the former president has continued at least some push back when it comes to the mutilation of children.

In August, Trump announced that he intends to support criminalizing the infliction of “gender transition” procedures on minors without parental consent. While the move was welcomed by conservatives as a step in the right direction, many would like to see the dangerous practices made illegal whether parents consent or not.

A significant body of evidence shows that “affirming” gender confusion carries serious harms, especially when done with impressionable children who lack the mental development, emotional maturity, and life experience to consider the long-term ramifications of the decisions being pushed on them or full knowledge about the long-term effects of life-altering, physically transformative, and often irreversible surgical and chemical procedures.

Studies find that more than 80% of children suffering gender dysphoria outgrow it on their own by late adolescence and that “transition” procedures, including full “reassignment” surgery, fail to resolve gender-confused individuals’ heightened tendency to engage in self-harm and suicide – and even exacerbate it, including by reinforcing their confusion and neglecting the actual root causes of their mental strife.
