Trump Declares Strong Stand Against Central Bank Digital Currency – American Faith

In his recent speech in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, former President Donald Trump declared that, if elected president again, he would oppose the implementation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Trump explicitly stated, “Tonight I’m also making another promise to protect Americans from government tyranny, as your President I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency…. I didn’t know you know so much…. New Hampshire very smart people, very current.” The crowd in New Hampshire responded with immediate applause following Trump’s announcement.

Trump expressed concerns about a federally regulated CBDC, distinguishing it from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He claimed that such a digital currency could enable the federal government to quickly freeze citizens’ bank accounts, drawing a parallel to Canada’s freezing of protesters’ bank accounts in 2022.

Trump elaborated, stating, “You know what they’re doing, such a currency would give a federal government, our federal government, the absolute control over your money; they could take your money, you wouldn’t even know it was gone. This would be a dangerous threat to freedom, and I will stop it from coming to America.”

During an appearance on Jesse Watters’ show on Fox News, Vivek Ramaswamy disclosed that he spoke with Trump backstage at his Atkinson, New Hampshire, rally.

Ramaswamy mentioned, “We talked about a number of issues backstage which I have actually championed in this race that I do think would be beneficial to the America First movement for President Trump to take on, and I think he was very amenable to many of them. Opposition to a central bank digital currency.”

After Trump’s announcement at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, rally, Vivek posted on X, stating, “I respect immensely President Trump’s openness to putting the right ideas into action. May the next four years be an American renaissance ahead of us.”
