Trump Says Haley is ‘Not Under Consideration’ As a Running Mate – American Faith

Former President Donald Trump reportedly ruled Nikki Haley out as a potential running mate in the 2024 election.

“Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot,” Trump posted on his Truth Social page.

“I wish her well!” Trump added, signing the post with his initials, DJT.

Haley said in February 2024 she planned to stay in the Republican presidential race despite losing her home state’s primary to Donald Trump by significant numbers.

“I’m a woman of my word. I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden,” Haley told her supporters at the time.

Haley said she doesn’t believe Trump can beat Biden and argued that Americans are ready to move on from both.

“One of them calls his fellow Americans fascists. The other calls his fellow Americans vermin. They aren’t fighting for our country’s future. They’re demanding we fight each other,” she said.

The former president held a 30-point polling lead going into the night and the primary was called in his favor almost immediately after polls closed.

One month later, Haley eventually dropped out of the presidential race.

In April 2024, American Faith reported that Haley would join the conservative-leaning Hudson Institute as its Walter P. Stern Chair.

The Walter P. Stern Chair was created in 2020 in honor of the institute’s former chairman.

“When our policymakers fail to call out our enemies or acknowledge the importance of our alliances, the world is less safe. That is why Hudson’s work is so critical,” Haley said in a press release. “They believe the American people should have the facts and policymakers should have the solutions to support a secure, free, and prosperous future. I look forward to partnering with them to defend the principles that make America the greatest country in the world.”

According to Hudson President and CEO John P. Walters, Haley is a “proven, effective leader on both foreign and domestic policy.”

“In an era of worldwide political upheaval, she has remained a steadfast defender of freedom and an effective advocate for American security and prosperity,” he said. “We are honored to have her join the Hudson team.”
