Elderly Couple Injured in Mexico After Cartel Drops IED on Home – American Faith

An elderly couple was injured in Mexico after a group of cartel gunmen dropped an explosive device on top of their home using a drone.

The attack reportedly took place last week in the town of La Ruana when a 72-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife were sleeping in their room.

According to La Voz de Michoacan, the group flew a drone over the town and dropped an explosive device that landed in the couple’s home.

Emergency personnel arrived at the home and rushed the couple to a local hospital, where they are expected to make a full recovery.

Earlier this week, a former U.S. soldier was arrested by Mexican authorities after allegedly building explosives for the Gulf Cartel just south of the Texas border.

William Louis Anhert was arrested by a group of federal officers in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, during a raid at a camp used by the Escorpiones faction of the Gulf Cartel.

During that raid, authorities reportedly arrested several gunmen and seized various explosive devices and components.

Mexican authorities flew Anhert, whom was confirmed to be a veteran, to Mexico City, where he has been held while awaiting trial on a number of federal charges.
