George Floyd’s Brother Praises Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz – American Faith

In a recent NBC News interview, George Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, praised Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for his response to Floyd’s death, particularly Walz’s decision to appoint Attorney General Keith Ellison to oversee the prosecution.

Floyd, who described Walz initially as a “regular governor,” commended his commitment to justice and expressed gratitude for Walz’s presence at Daunte Wright’s funeral.

“At first, he was just a regular governor, just looking like a politician,” Floyd said. “Then, he stood up and he put Keith Ellison in place as the prosecutor, and that showed a lot of people he was not playing. He was serious.”

Philonise Floyd also praised Walz for having attended the funeral of Duante Wright.

“For him to take time out of his day to speak at the funeral, I gotta give him kudos,” Floyd said. “He showed what unity was. He’s a family man with a good heart.”

However, Walz faces scrutiny over claims of “stolen valor” following a campaign video where he exaggerated his military experience.

The Harris-Walz campaign admitted Walz “misspoke” about carrying weapons in combat and corrected his official biography, which had inaccurately listed a higher military rank than he achieved.
