Well-worn tile floors. Fluorescent lighting. Messages written on paper plates fried green beans $4.99. Cold chicken $3 pound. Two massive cast-iron fryers that look like they predate the Industrial Revolution.

This doesnt look like the kind of place that makes New Jerseys best fried chicken, but the Chicken Coop does just that, 70 years after opening in the Columbus Farmers Market on Route 206 in Springfield, Burlington County.
